Brandy Wanlass, daughter of world renowned automotive sculptor Stanley Wanlass, grew up in a creative environment surrounded by diverse influences from hot rods to renaissance paintings. During her childhood, she traveled with her family to various art and car shows throughout the United States, including the Concours D'Elegance at Pebble Beach, CA and Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester, MI.
Having experienced such a unique upbringing, Brandy developed a fascination with fine arts and forms of transportation which are prevalent throughout her pieces. She credits her choice of subject matter to the many automotive artists she encountered at exhibits she attended as a child, who inspired her love of transportation as an art form.
Among her heroes, in addition to her father, are Tom Hale, Larry Braun, Jeff Decker, Arlen Ness and David Uhl. The vibrant color and grandeur of works by contemporary artists such as Chuck Close and Claes Oldenburg have also influenced her work. Brandy holds a BFA degree from Utah State University.
